Cedric

Cedric is home, sick in bed... but with a very particular kind of illness: he's come down with "lovesickness"! He tries to explain the symptoms to Christian: chills, no appetite, shaky legs when he sees Chen... Christian, who's never been in love, finds it hard to understand. In a flashback, Cedric explains how he caught the "virus of love".

Grownups are sometimes really hard to understand. Cedric still remembers the day he ran home waving his report card like a flag - a report card that was brilliant, extraordinary, better than he'd ever had in his entire scholastic career! However, his father had remained completely indifferent, unimpressed. So his mom had explained that it was because his father was worried...

Cedric has earned the most disastrous report card in his academic history. After using up every trick in the book to defuse his father's traditional outbursts of rage on thE subject, Cedric sees only one possible solution: lose the report card someplace where it will never, ever be found.

Will Cedric prove to be the perfect spouse for Chen that he dreams of becoming? Sometimes he tells himself that it's not going to be easy... Saturday, Mary Rose had accepted to fill in at the pastry shop where she's been working part time. Poppy didn't miss the opportunity to complain, regretting the good old days when wives stayed at home.

That Christian! What a guy! He really is the best friend a kid could have! With all his ideas, how many times did Christian save Cedric's skin? Like when he lent him the Gameboy his brother had given him: Cedric drove his parents and Poppy so crazy with the noise of the console, that they gave him the money he needed to go to the movies with Chen.

Chen has come over to do her homework with Cedric, who's determined to take advantage of the situation to declare his love. But Cedric surprises his grandfather spying on them through the keyhole. To cover himself, Poppy invents a preposterous story about oiling the lock, but Cedric doesn't believe a word of it, and decides to take revenge.
