As the area of Hamblen County, Tennessee struggles with the growing opioid crisis-the body of local woman Michelle 'Mickey' Moore is discovered beaten to death in 2003. As leads run dry and questions are left unanswered, detectives will spend the next 12 years tracking down her killer, leading them to the most unlikely of culprits.

Rushing home in the early hours of May 9th, 1990, Jan Cornell would encounter every parent's worst nightmare-her daughter and best friend had been murdered in her absence. Jan would spend the next 26 years of her life fighting for justice, until police finally put a face to the monster behind this crime.

The year 1990 was supposed to be a time of new beginnings for Sharon Gill; this would change in a matter of minutes, however, when she's discovered brutally murdered in her new home on the 21st of March. With no clear motive or suspects, investigators are tasked with a 30-year-long quest for answers.

On July 8th, 1981, a body of a young local, Ricky Ridings, was discovered in the front seat of his truck, shot and abandoned in a creek bed. As investigators are led down a path of crime connections and staff shortages, it would be 36 years before Ricky's killer is caught.

The quiet of East Greenbush, New York, was shattered in 1994 with the discovery of Wilomeana 'Violet' Filkins' badly beaten body within her apartment complex. This would be the beginning of a long investigation by the East Greenbush Police Department as they follow every lead possible until they catch their killer.

In 1992, off a busy highway in Blythe, California, the decomposed body of a woman was discovered within the desert brush. Due to the evidence at the scene, the death of this unidentified woman would be ruled as accidental; but years later, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office would begin to connect it to one of California's most prolific serial killers.
