Darcey Bussell’s Royal Road Trip begins in the Scottish Highlands. The one event the Queen never misses on her summer holidays at Balmoral is the Highland Games, where Darcey tosses the caber and discovers what it’s like to have the Queen as a neighbour.

Darcey's trip continues in the heart of the Queen’s realm, London and the South-East. In Richmond Park, Darcey visits the hunting lodge where the Queen spent the first year of her life. It’s also a trip down memory lane for Darcey because White Lodge was her childhood home too.

This leg starts at the secret royal entrance to the beach just a few miles from the Queen’s Winter retreat at Sandringham. It’s a spectacular place where the Queen has been enjoying family days out since the 1950s.

In Pembrokeshire, Darcey discovers that the Queen’s beloved corgis aren’t just pets, they’re working dogs that herd cattle. Next Darcey meets a harpist with an amazing claim to fame, they have performed more than 180 times for the royals.
