Maiken works at a hospital in Aalborg with her boyfriend, the doctor Jacob. When the Norwegian nurse Ida joins the hospital, it brings tension and chaos into Jacob and Maiken's lives - both in the hospital corridor and in their private lives.

Maiken and Jacob's relationship has come to a standstill. Becoming house owners, "project baby" and life as an adult have extinguished the last spark between them. But everything changes when nurse Ida enters their lives.

Maiken and Ida have become close friends and spend a lot of time together. At the hospital, Jacob has to take part in his first major operation, but the operation does not go as planned, much to Jacob's frustration.

The day after the night out on the town, Maiken and Ida have to go to work. They are very hungover, which annoys the experienced nurse Anette, who feels that Ida has a bad influence on Maiken.

An investigation into Johansen's death has been launched at the hospital. Maiken, Ida and Jacob spend the night in Maiken's childhood home during the weekend while they wait for the results of the investigation.

The weekend in Maiken's childhood home has brought Maiken and Ida even closer together, which results in Jacob starting to feel left out. The jealousy becomes too much when, Jacob finds out that Maiken and Ida have made a dinner date without him.

Maiken's view of Ida has begun to change, and when she questions Jacob about Ida, it disturbs the relationship between the three. At the hospital, Anette suspects Ida of being involved in the department's many deaths.
