It's the year 199x, and the world is enveloped in the fires of a nuclear holocaust. On the charred remains of the earth's surface, few remaining groups of humans are struggling to survive.

The rice seeds which an old man had been traveling with for half a year to bring back to his village are stolen from him. The seeds are returned and the old man is escorted back to his village.

Kenshiro's arch nemesis Shin who calls himself King Clan has captured Lin who was following Kenshiro.

Kenshiro has killed Shin's subordinates. Shin orders Heart to exterminate Kenshiro.

A year ago, Shin betrayed his master's orders and fought Kenshiro, stealing Kenshiro's lover Yuria. Kenshiro goes alone to the fortress to look for Yuria, but no one is there.

Kenshiro, Lin, and Bat arrive at a desert oasis. It's a small but lively town, but it's ruled by the "Divine Military," God's Army, who on the surface protects the town while actually plundering its resources over and over again.
