George and Martha

When Martha starts taking French lessons from that suave leopard about-town Pierre La Derriere, George goes into a fit of jealousy. He schemes to impress Martha with his savoir faire and je ne sais quoi. / From the moment George scares the daylights out of Martha by sneaking up behind her and yelling “Boo!” he lives in fear of the day she’ll retaliate. Weeks later, when the friends are on a trip to the amusement park together, the day of reckoning finally arrives.

Flushed with her success dancing the role of “The Happy Butterfly” at a ballet recital, Martha tries to get George to share her enthusiasm for the dance. George gives it a game try, but he just isn’t built to pirouette. / George’s maiden voyage on roller skates ends abruptly when he wipes out and looses his favorite tooth. The local hippo dentist fits him with a dazzling gold replacement, but George refuses to be seen with it until Martha convinces him how handsome it is.

Martha’s nosy neighbor, Penny the flamingo, just can’t keep her big beak out of everyone else’s business. Her constant snooping becomes so annoying that George and Martha set a trap to teach her a lesson. / When George volunteers to be the lifeguard at the Happy Palms beach, he discovers that the job is a lot harder than he imagined-especially when he has to blow the whistle on his best friend’s wild surfing escapades.

George boasts that he’s an unflappable fan of horror films. Martha says she’s terrified of them. But when they go to see “The Mummy’s Toe” together it’s George, who ends up shivering in his shoes, while Martha has the time of her life. / All George wants is a little peace and quiet so that he can read his new book. All Martha wants is for George to stop reading and do something exciting with her. The standoff turns into a real test of nerves--and their friendship.

Martha falls under the spell of Dolly Llama, a beauty guru who raises narcissism to an art form. When George realizes that his friend’s obsession with her looks is beginning to ruin the rest of her life, he has to find a way to turn her mirror against her. / George and Martha have the same birthday. This year they exchange gifts, only to discover that they’ve each given the other the very thing they most want themselves. At the end of the day, though, they realize that there’s no more precious gift than their friendship.

Martha wants to go on a picnic in the park, but George would rather stay in bed. So Martha takes the sleeping George, bed and all, on a wild ride through Happy Palms that climaxes with their appearance as unexpected guests at an al fresco wedding. / George goes on a rampage of practical jokes that annoy Martha so much that she stops talking to him. When he tries to win her back with a gift of freshly baked cake, he finds she’s turned the tables on him.
