Glory in Shadows

Upon threats to her mother's life, Shen Yao Chu (Wu Jia Yi), the oldest daughter of the governor's family, is forced to marry the deceased General Li Jing Chuan (Dong Zi Fan), knowing that it will spell her death as well. But just as she's about to be sacrificed, Jing Chuan appears before his family – alive and well. Sensing tension between Jing Chuan and his mother, Yao Chu proposes a deal: she'll serve as his wife if he protects her mother. Unfortunately, despite Jing Chuan's agreement, Yao Chu's mother dies under mysterious circumstances in the Li family manor, driving Yao Chu to seek revenge. To her surprise, Jing Chuan continues to ally with her, investigating by her side and standing between her and his own family as they begin developing feelings for each other that go beyond revenge partners.
