Altagracia Sandoval has Jaime Aguirre arrested after he refuses to abandon a property she has seized for her construction company. Saul Aguirre, his son and lawyer, gate-crashes one of Lady Altagracia's parties.

Saul confronts Altagracia about Jaime's arrest and she assures him that she'll lock his father up for the rest of his days. Though she feigns indifference, he manages to get to her. Monica arrives in Mexico City.

Altagracia herself oversees the eviction of the tenement's residents. One of the thugs attacks Monica, but Saul comes to her rescue. The scheme fails due to the tenants' heroism. Guillermo is forced to incriminate himself.

Altagracia has Guillermo killed and sends his false confession to the press. Saul accuses Lady Altagracia of being soulless, Monica's guitar is stolen, and Yesenia offers Lazaro an alliance.

Altagracia agrees to meet with Saul so they can reach an agreement and has her employees leave her ranch. A hopeful Saul goes to the meeting. Meanwhile, Monica gets a makeover from Lydia hoping Saul will notice her.

Altagracia decides to change her strategy and drops the charges against Jaime Aguirre, Officer Gabino Dominguez manages to win Monica's trust, and Lady Altagracia shows up at the tenement to negotiate peace.
