Popeye the Sailor

A modern Stanley and Livingston saga, with Popeye going to Darkest Africa to rescue his pal, Dr. Bluto. After untold hardships, the sailor reaches his friend, only to find the eminent doctor cavorting happily with native beauties.

Floating on a raft, Popeye and Olive Oyl land on a jungle island. A huge elephant grabs Popeye and a hairy gorilla runs off with Olive Oyl. Popeye uses his left hook on the elephant and rushes off to save Olive Oyl.

Popeye proceeds to teach the children at Olive Oyl's Health Farm a thing or two about the merits of spinach.

Olive Oyl is moving and Popeye shows up to help. She refuses saying she needs a strong man for the job. Bluto arrives and both men proceed to do the fastest moving job ever, to impress the fair Olive.

Olive presents Popeye with a cute little puppy, Eugene the Jeep, as a birthday present with instructions to make him sleep outside. Eugene refuses to oblige the harried Popeye and winds up sleeping in his bed.

Popeye and Olive Oyl, trying to climb a high snow-covered mountain, are thwarted at every turn by the villainous Bluto.
