Rap Life Live

Available on Music
In times of turmoil and uncertainty, music has long been the great healer. Within the Black community especially, music becomes more than just entertainment—it transforms into its own kind of resistance, restoration, and replenisher. As the world constricts under the pressure of injustice, Rap Life Live, against the backdrop of Howard University in Washington, D.C., is turning to artists as a guide and a balm. Within those storied walls—eerily empty due to the ongoing pandemic—Rapsody, Lil Baby, Nas, and Wale perform songs that offer light and legacy in this special presentation hosted by Ebro, Nadeska, and Lowkey. By spotlighting these rappers, it’s our hope to spotlight the link between music and message—between art and justice—as it comes to bear in this moment.
