Following Doreen and Neville Lawrence's struggle for justice after the murder of their son Stephen in 1993. The family works together with DCI Clive Driscoll to put together an investigation that secures two convictions 18 years after his death.

On April 22, 1993, 18-year-old Stephen Lawrence was murdered by a gang of racists on a London street. Thirteen years later, in 2006, the murder remains unsolved, and Stephen’s family continue their fight for justice. Meanwhile, DCI Clive Driscoll finds Stephen’s cold case files and is convinced the case can be solved, despite opposition from within the police.

DCI Driscoll tries to win the trust of the Lawrence family and key witnesses. After a forensic breakthrough, the team need to prove the integrity of the evidence before they can make arrests.

Episode 3
In September 2010, two of Stephen’s suspected killers are arrested in dawn raids and stand trial for his murder. The defense and prosecution argue over potential cross-contamination in the years since the murder that could mean the forensic evidence is unsafe. While they await the verdict, Doreen Lawrence tells Clive that whatever the outcome, the fight for justice will go on.
