On Eternia, the sorceress tells He-Man that soon there will be a brief meeting of the past and the future. During this encounter, representatives of the future will ask He-Man to join them on their planet, Primus, to save it from destruction. The Power of the Good and The Way of Magic that He-Man possesses is their only hope for survival.

The only elements capable of driving the Trifusium Gener­ator, the temperature control center of the entire planet Primus, is a crystal mined solely on the home planet of the Mutants, Denebria. After an attack launched from the Mothership destroys the crystals currently running the generator, He-Man decides that he must travel to Gorn City to secure more crystals.

Until the four scientists install the replacement crystals in the Trifusiurn Generator, the temperature on Primus cannot be controlled. Before they can begin the task, however, they are kidnapped by Skeletor's Mutants and taken to the Quagmi Swamp on Denebria.

Skeletor has devised a new, three-pronged plan to conquer Primus: locate the entrances to the escape tubes in the Oasis, disable The Shield, and attack Onnor. To ensure the success of the second phase of his plan he secures the services of Werban, Secretary of the Inner Council.

When Skeletor issues a challenge to He-Man, a "winner take all" on the Cameroon asteroid, both Adam and Sebrian suspect it is a trap. But they also know that He-Man must accept. In his absence, the Hole-Sensor will enable the inhabitants of Primus to maintain the strength of The Shield. Although He-Man will be gone, they will be safe.

In searching for his new pet "Grr", Skeletor has found an evil crystal in the caverns of Moon Nordor. A crystal that gives any man the power of ten. To demonstrate this power Skeletor has Quakke submit to the crystal and go to Gorn City.
