Villeneuve, a farmer, has been diagnosed with leukaemia, an illness apparently linked to his use of a herbicide manufactured by the multinational company Saskia. Childhood friend and MP, Delpierre, launches a campaign to have the product banned.

Forrest's body has been found in the Seine. Bowman is tasked with convincing his family that he committed suicide, but the deceased's daughter, Chloé, refutes the claim and decides to investigate his death herself.

Michel Villeneuve comes into conflict with his son Benjamin, who would like to convert the farm to organic thanks to the money offered by Bowman. Deputy Guillaume Delpierre suspects an attempt at corruption orchestrated by a lobbyist.

Chloe and Claire go to the meeting set by Sorensen, the former head of Saskia's research sector, who now lives in hiding. For him, there is no doubt that Didier Forrest was assassinated.

Delpierre and Villeneuve prepare to defend the anti-Lymitrol amendment with a radio interview. Bowman decides to leak the link between the MP's wife and the Paoletti Foundation. Chloé discovers that her father had made one last phone call.

Chloé is convinced that Percy is involved in her father's death. He then tries to ensure she poses a threat. Saskia's intimidation attempt leads Sorensen to contact Claire. She manages to get him to reveal the name of the laboratory.
