Andy and Lance meet Sophie, a young history student, who points them in the direction of a local farm on which a near-legendary find might be hidden. The only problem is the landowner's intense dislike of trespassers.

Lance and Andy secure permission to explore Larry Bishop's estate, but the two smell a rat when a rival group of detectorists arrive on the farm.

Andy and Lance enlist the help of Terry, the leader of the DMDC, in searching the Bishop estate. Terry is only too keen to help, jumping at the opportunity to prove that Larry Bishop murdered his wife.

Terry stands down as the DMDC's leader, creating a void that the rest of the members scramble to fill. Andy shows Lance a recent find, leading to a falling out between the two friends.

Despite the silence reigning between Andy, Lance, Becky, and Sophie, their secrets are close to being exposed; Larry Bishop's farm is a subject of renewed interest.

Larry Bishop's invisible dogs disappear without a trace; police look into a recent excavation; and Andy and Lance are given one last chance to discover the burial place of the East Saxon King Sexred.
