Platonic best friends Esther and Benji want nothing more than to be welcomed by the vain, status-obsessed culture of Los Angeles.

Esther and Jeff take Benji on a fun-filled road trip for his birthday, but Esther's ulterior motive threatens to derail the festivities.

After visiting a fertility clinic to freeze her own eggs, Esther plans to donate some of her eggs to offset the costs. Benji's paternal instincts kick in as he awaits word on a sperm test.

Esther invites a lesbian couple from the building over for a dinner party in the hopes of convincing them to become her mentors. Benji's efforts to prevent Esther from embarrassing herself backfire after the women take more of an interest in Benji.
