American Girl, Girl of the Year: Meet Kira Bailey

Kira arrives in Australia to enjoy the company of Bailey Wildlife Sanctuary's cute inhabitants. A new baby koala tops the list of animals she wishes to meet.

Kira Bailey has the best time ever as she navigates life at the Bailey Wildlife Sanctuary. She makes an unexpected furry friend, learns that Australia's seasons are the opposite of the US, and finally meets Baby Bean.

Kira and Alexis attend to a wounded baby wallaby amid a red alert for a predator. To add to the woes, aunt Mamie falls ill and needs immediate medical care.

The predator remains at large and becomes a serious threat to the small animals; Alexis and Kira's ongoing tug of war over Baby Bean escalates into a heated dispute.

The wombats have escaped and are now in danger. It's a do-something situation, and Kira sets out on a solo rescue mission into the wild bush. However, it's getting dark, and she's gone too far into unknown territory.

Kira is surprised to learn who is the scary predator giving the animals a hard time. Once it is caught, she must find the strength to bid farewell to Baby Bean.
