Bud asks a girl to go to his first dance with him, but he then learns his parents are attending as well. Bud tries to learn how to dance from a book, but the book is over 50 years old.

Jim buys a motor scooter for Bud, but relents when Margaret is against it. Meanwhile, Betty fears she may be gaining weight.
