In the crime-ridden city of Ergastulum, the police hire a pair of mercenaries to take out a gang leader.

Nina arrives at the Handymen's office to deliver Nic's medicine. She tells them that Dr. Theo is being harassed by one of the people like Nic.

Alex accompanies Nic on a delivery run for Dr. Theo and learns about the dark history that binds Worick and Nic together.

Nic and Worick are summoned to the police station to help identify a pile of mangled bodies found in District 6. Worick assists using his photographic memory.

Worick searches for the people responsible for the attack on Monroe's men; Nic overdoses on a pain killer but still fights Doug, a fellow Twilight gone renegade now targeting Monroe.

While interrogating a henchman, Worick discovers the true motivation behind the attacks on Monroe, and discusses this with Nic at the clinic.
