Jimmy is a bachelor with no cares in the world until he discovers he has a son, Gerald, who also has a baby daughter, Edie.

Jimmy is not happy when Gerald organises a family trip to the beach. Vanessa and Sara are forced to become acquainted when Gerald is dragged away at a pool party.

Jimmy plans a birthday party for Edie at his restaurant after he misses her celebration. Sara's brother confronts Jimmy.

Jimmy decides to go on a guys' night out with Gerald so that he can get to know his son better. Annalise brings in a new mixologist to the restaurant.

Jimmy takes Gerald's place at a preschool admission interview for Edie, and tells the counsellor a lie that quickly spirals out of control.

Jimmy goes on a date with Sara's co-worker, who is not impressed with his moves. Meanwhile, Vanessa and Gerald decide to become friends with benefits.
