The new teacher finds her first class at Hartley High to be difficult when she can't control them. She manages to win the respect of her students when she dissolves a schoolyard brawl.

Jodie's rap songs are banned from the school, resulting in a revolt by the students. A strike is organised by Nick, Rose and Jodie, but Deloraine threatens them with suspension.

Danielle asks if she can try out for the soccer team, much to the boys' annoyance. Rumours circulate about Nick and Jodie. Con tries to help Jodie make a demo tape.

Nick's parents worry when he doesn't come home after spending the night with Jodie. The police attempt to question Rivers about a stolen car, as Southgate helps him out of the tight situation.

Nick moves out of home to live with Jodie, after arguing with his father. Christina tells Marco he cannot keep dropping in unexpectedly. Jodie is offered a job as a singer in Melbourne.

Chaka suffers under the pressure of family obligations at home while her mother is away. Marco tries to convince Christina to finally set a wedding date.
