Four couples in crisis gather at a weekend retreat near Sydney - but this is no relaxing getaway. Over the course of the weekend, relationship experts John Aiken and Desiree Spierings will dig deep into the causes of their problems to plan strategies for the couples over the next eight weeks.
Two weeks into the eight-week experiment, and the experts focus on the couples' communication styles - both verbal and non-verbal.
As the experiment passes its halfway mark, the experts focus on sex and affection, which is proving a major stumbling block for many of our couples. John introduces the volunteers to the concept of 'love languages', and they learn that everyone likes to express and receive affection in one of five different ways - time, touch, talk (or words of affirmation), tokens and tasks.
The end of the eight weeks is in sight, but the couples still have many hurdles to overcome. Alison apologizes to Paul for an affair and reveals the true story behind it. He has to make a decision that will decide the future of their relationship - will he forgive her or not?
