Hill shepherds Amanda and Clive Owen live on one of the most remote farms in Britain, where they are raising nine children, and offer insight into facing some of of the most extraordinary and extreme weather conditions.

Inspired by the discovery that the farm is over 700 years old, Edith and Violet search an old barn for signs of life left behind by previous shepherding families; Clemmy helps Amanda treat a ewe with a nasty ailment.

The family battle through two brutal winter storms. While they fight the elements to feed the flock, mum Amanda is powerless to stop the only livestock trailer being washed away down the swollen river.

The family tackle life in lockdown; home learning gets hands-on for all nine kids as lambing is in full swing.
