Ethel and Reginald Christie move into 10 Rillington Place after nine years apart. As war breaks out, their relationship is filled with violence and deceit beneath the facade of a respectable marriage.

Newlyweds Tim and Beryl are befriended by their older neighbours, the Christies. However, as time goes by, Mr Christie's influence over the couple takes a disturbing turn.
