The Congregation

Twenty-one-year-old Anna comes to Knutby and is enchanted by the warmth and community in the small Pentecostal congregation. But pastors Eva and Sindre believe that discussions about Jesus' return are taking too long and choose to act on their own.

After the betrothal, Eva is now the Bride of Christ; Anna lets go of her old life and is wooed by Johnny, a young man from the congregation.

A tragedy strikes Sindre and his family; Anna gains an increasingly prominent position, both in the assembly and as support for Sindre.

The newly married Sindre is still tormented by demons, and Eva decides that Anna, with her purity and faith, can help him; the congregation's young women are invited to a party at the bride of Christ, and Anna sees something that confuses her.

The congregation has turned against Anna, and she desperately tries to gain Eva's forgiveness; Sindre struggles between the demands of his new wife and the expectations of Eva.

Anna has returned to her childhood home and begins to receive messages from an unknown number. She believes that it might be Jesus trying to communicate with her. Through a drastic act, she hopes to become clean and gain Eva's forgiveness.
