Hinohara Arata's school life is terrible and he wishes he could disappear; Arata of Amawakuni must fight for his life after he is wrongfully accused of murder.

Hinohara Arata is captured to stand trial for the murder of the princess, and he gets a chance to speak with his double.

Arata and Kotoha are taken to Gatoya, a penal colony, where they are immediately attacked by two boys named Kanate and Ginchi.

Kanate and Ginchi are taken by The Reckoning of Warden Tsutsuga; Arata finds them facing off before Tsutsuga in a battle to the death.

In the modern world, Hinohara Arata's family knows something is different about Arata; Hinohara Arata heads south in Amawakuni and learns of the relationship between the princess and the Twelve Shinsho.

Kannagi's Zokusho, Ohika, saves Arata after he collapses; Akachi of the Twelve Shinsho arrives and orders Ohika to become his Zokusho, but Ohika refuses as he has sworn his loyalty to Kannagi.
