An elite team of investigators from Belgium, Denmark and Germany join forces to probe a string of murders; the investigation takes the team all over Europe, and they are soon facing a fight against a widespread criminal network.

On her way to meet Iris Gabler, Jackie is attacked and shot by a masked man, leaving her badly wounded; Harald and Alicia travel to Berlin to find out who shot her, but there are no leads on the would-be assassin.

When the Danish police arrive at the chicken farm, the building is burning brightly and several of those forced to work there have died in the flames; the survivors leave the police in no doubt that this was modern slavery at its worst.
