Shawn Roberts
Before he was popping shots off into the empty heads of marauding zombies, and battling snarling werewolves, vampires, and other demonic creatures in feature films, burly actor Shawn Roberts was best known for his role as high school rapist Dean Walton in the popular Canadian teen soap "Degrassi: The Next Generation." Walton was a pivotal character in season two of the show and was later brought back in season four as well. Much of Roberts's film work has been genre-oriented, mainly in horror roles, such as one of the humans struggling to survive the apocalyptic zombie onslaught in George Romero's later zombie movies "Land of the Dead" and "Diary of the Dead." He also fought vampires with Lorenzo Lamas in the Canadian film "Blood Angels," played a cursed but non-evil werewolf in the action/horror film "Skinwalkers," and guest starred in a 2009 episode of the series "Supernatural." Although normally cast as a good guy in these films, he relished playing the evil control freak Albert Wesker in the horror sequel "Resident Evil: Afterlife," broadening his choice of roles. Roberts also had in a small but important part in the dark Mel Gibson 2010 thriller, "Edge of Darkness," and went to guest star on the shows "Being Erica" and "The Firm." In 2012, Roberts reprised his role as Wesker in "Resident Evil: Retribution."
