With the popularity of Las Vegas-based `Pawn Stars', History is expanding the franchise and heading south with `Cajun Pawn Stars', set at the Silver Dollar Pawn & Jewelry Center in Alexandria, La. Jimmie `Big Daddy' DeRamus has owned and operated the shop with his family for more than two decades. DeRamus is a walking encyclopaedia when it comes to historic collectibles, which is not surprising given that his store houses more than 100,000 artefacts. Much like the original `Pawn Stars', in addition to the items that are brought into the store, the show focuses on Jimmie and his family - younger brother Johnnie and daughter Tammie - as they run the store as well as the experts that are brought in to help appraise the items.
