Emil decides to fire his girlfriend Carla after a mishap at a catering job, but things don't go his way. To make matters worse, Emil finds out that his mother Helle is dating Viktor, his best friend.

Emil tries to be rational about Viktor and Helle's relationship while dealing with the problems his failure to fire Carla causes for the catering company.

Carla files an official complaint against the catering company, prompting Viktor and Emil to get a grip the situation. Emil befriends a fellow chef.

Emil is having a hard time with the ruthless advice of their lawyer and would rather try to handle things more diplomatically with Carla. Viktor takes the next step in his relationship with Helle, because they move in together.

Emil gets caught in Viktor and Helle's argument about starting a family. Siv and Emil get close, and their friendship continues to blossom.
