Cult member Maya succeeds in pulling her younger sister Hagar into the Shabtai family, much to their family's distress.

The girls' parents make an appeal to the Ministry of Welfare to get Hagar back. However, the authorities becomes suspicious of Joel.

Joel and Tikva hire an investigative reporter to secretly film the cult's lessons. However, she discovers her clandestine work was redundant.

The reporter arrives at the commune and she begins filming Shabtai and his wives. Shabtai introduces the women, but he presents Maya as being his student, and not one of his wives. Maya breaks down.

Joel and Maya see each other in court. Maya has requested an extension of the restraining order against her father. Joel could have sent his lawyer, but he came in person to tell Maya that her mother has been hospitalised.

Shabtai threatens to kick Maya and Hagar out if Hagar attends Tikva's funeral. However, Hagar attends and is saddened by her father's heartbreaking eulogy.
