The notorious and wayward Post East Bank is shaken to its foundations when beloved Lieutenant Patrick is promoted away. When a balloon gets stuck, it becomes clear that his replacement Dominique's approach clashes with the crew.

Against the advice of his psychologist, Tom reports to Post Oosteroever as the new recruit. During an intervention, it becomes clear why not everyone is equally happy with his arrival. Meanwhile, Dominique and Orlando try to work together.

After an intervention with fatalities, Post Oosteroever is portrayed as an incompetent fire brigade. Dominique urges Orlando to become an aide to get more structure in the force. Nina doesn't trust recruit Tom.

Patrick investigates the faulty fire hydrants and enlists help from his old team; Tom and Nina try to reconcile their differences.

Dominique's professional mask cracks during an intervention with a suicidal teenager. Tom's future at Post Oosteroever begins to look brighter, until ghosts from his past appear.

An intervention involving a serious car accident takes a toll on Tom. It forces him to face his own traumas. Patrick goes to present the result of his research, but does not get the reaction he expected.
