A woman, disguised as a man, comes to Kyoto in search of her father; ronin chase after her before they are attacked by demons.

A mysterious stranger arrives and announces an upcoming storm; many confrontations arise as they race to Mt. Tennozan.

Itou Kashitarou allies with the corps as an adviser, but not all the soldiers are happy with his presence; the Shinsengumi plan to move to a larger headquarters; Sannan continues research on a potion, but with dangerously detrimental side effects.

Sannan takes the potion he created, but begins to lose self control; the Shinsegumi wait to see if he recovers and work to keep Itou from noticing; Saito informs Chizuru that her father had been working on the potion.
