Love Live! Superstar!!

Kanon Shibuya takes the entrance exams for the music programme at Yuigaoka Girls' High School, but she fails her singing test and ends up taking the general curriculum; Keke Tang from her class asks her to be a school idol with her.

Realising that she still loves singing, Kanon decides to become a school idol, but Ren Hazuki insists that school idols are not needed at Yuigaoka; Kanon tries to find Ren's weakness with Chisato's help, only to find out that many students trust her.

In order to continue school idol activities, the girls must take first place at the Yoyogi School Idol Festival. Chisato and Keke try various methods to help Kanon sing in front of an audience, but nothing works. Kanon is discouraged, but Keke encourages her to take her place on the stage. The girls receive news that Sunny Passion, one of the best idol groups in Japan, will perform at the event.

The girls fail to take first place at the Yoyogi School Idol Festival, however, they win the special new artist award and gain followers on social media, so the school president allows them to continue their school idol activities. Ren expresses her dissatisfaction, while Sumire Heanna takes an interest in the school idol group and joins the club to further her aspirations in show business.

Sumire joins the Yuigaoka School Idol Club as its third member. It is now summer, and everyone is taking a break from the intense heat at Kanon's house when some visitors arrive. The visitors are Mao Hiiragi and Yuna Hijirisawa from Sunny Passion. They invite the girls to their hometown of Kozushima to perform in a school idol concert. The girls are happy, but Chisato, who is preparing for a dance competition, appears troubled.

Kanon and her friends train with Sunny Passion for their next concert; Chisato is training for her dance contest; Ren spots Chisato's withdrawal letter to the school; Kanon and Chisato talk over the phone, but they seem distant.
