Negli anni '80 i Cure inaugurano la stagione dark del gruppo: Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography sono alcuni dei brani. L'album The Head On The Door, apre un nuovo corso nella carriera della band, con gemme pop di assoluta grandezza come Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, Inbetween days, Close To Me, Push, The Baby Scream, A Night Like This e Sinking.
