Il Patriarca

Nemo Bandera, a successful entrepreneur, learns he has a severe degenerative illness that will prevent him from continuing as the Patriarch of Levante, his coastal city in Puglia. He decides to choose a successor from his two children, Carlo and Nina, who have distanced themselves from the family business, Deep Sea, disappointing his godson and lawyer, Mario, who hoped to be selected. Additionally, Nemo has another daughter, Lara, from his first love, Ada, who is in a coma. Lara has requested euthanasia, which Nemo opposes, prompting him to hire former police officer Buscemi to bribe the judge overseeing her case. However, things do not go as planned.

Nemo's troubles escalate as Inspector Monterosso arrives in Levante targeting him. Concurrently, local crime lord the Tiger steals a cocaine-filled truck. The discovery of Buscemi's body allows Monterosso to arrest Bandera. Meanwhile, Mario, inspired by his partner Elisa, is set on winning Nina's heart to marry her and take control of the Deep Sea.

Nemo is accused by Inspector Monterosso of killing former Commissioner Buscemi. Meanwhile, the Tiger convinces Lara to work for him in return for Vento's life, a young dealer she knows. Mario urges Nina to aim for Nemo's heir, while Carlo, supported by his mother Serena, is set on proving he deserves his father's position. However, Mario intends to challenge the Patriarch.

Lara is attacked by Freddy, a man from the Tiger, leading Nemo and Malcolm, an accountant from Deep Sea and Lara's friend, to create a protection plan. Malcolm, an undercover agent investigating Nemo, falls for Lara, risking his mission. Carlo tries to prove his worth to Nemo at Deep Sea but falls into a trap set by Mario to discredit him. Meanwhile, Mario plans to end his relationship with Elisa to propose to Nina when unexpected news interrupts.

Nemo rewards Malcolm for assisting Lara by entrusting him with his private accounts, which in turn sparks Mario's envy. Meanwhile, Carlo and his partner Alessandro, the son of Buscemi, decide to leave Levante to escape Nemo's influence. Lara secures a new job as a factory worker, but soon realizes that Nemo is behind her hiring. Elisa's pregnancy threatens to derail Mario's plans. In the meantime, Monterosso is accused of assaulting a colleague who has been corrupted by Nemo.

Nemo’s business is in trouble: he’s forced to lay off staff and shut down companies, including Lara’s workplace. But that’s not enough, so he plans one last drug shipment. Meanwhile, Elisa, after her abortion, decides to run for Mayor, even if it means distancing herself from Mario publicly. Serena, tired of being ignored by Nemo, considers divorce. Carlo, meanwhile, spirals into a cycle of sex and drugs after breaking up with Alessandro
