Braccialetti rossi

A group of young patients bond and forge friendships while undergoing long-term treatment at a hospital in Puglia. Among them are Rocco, an 11-year-old boy who has been in a coma for eight months; Leo, a 17-year-old suffering from bone cancer; Cris, a girl with anorexia; Davide, a 14-year-old with heart problems; Vale, a boy who is scheduled to undergo leg amputation, and Toni, hospitalized after a motorcycle accident.

Davide and Leo finally figure out how to communicate with each other and become good friends. Toni and Rocco, still in a coma, establish their own special connection, and the likeable 14-year-old joins the group as the “clever one.” Dr. Lisandri tells Leo that he must undergo another round of chemotherapy. Leo finds comfort in Cris, which triggers Vale’s jealousy.

A young boy enters Toni’s room claiming to have fallen down the stairs, but Toni immediately realizes that the truth is far more sinister. With a clever ploy, he manages to gain the trust of this newcomer, who confesses to being the victim of his father’s abuse. After recording his statement, Toni and Vale pass it on to Dr. Carlo. Meanwhile, Davide returns home, and Cris and Leo kiss.

Cris’ roommate Olga is discharged from hospital, which sends Cris into a crisis. Meanwhile, the next few hours prove to be decisive for Davide, as he must undergo urgent and risky heart surgery. Vale’s parents inform him that they are planning to separate, while Leo is in desperate need of money to purchase a new prosthesis, and both boys seek comfort from Cris.

The group of Braccialetti Rossi is devastated by the loss of their friend Davide, and they all want to attend his funeral. However, Dr. Lisandri prevents them from leaving the hospital, prompting Leo to decide to take action. Vale is finally discharged from hospital, but Leo does not take the news well. The two come to blows after a confrontation with Cris. Meanwhile, Toni’s grandfather is summoned to court because he is being held responsible for the boy’s accident.

Rocco's mother decides to have her son undergo an operation to attempt to rouse him from his coma; however, the only person capable of performing the operation is Dr. Lisandri, who must first overcome her fears. Nicola is saved by a mysterious girl after falling ill. Meanwhile, Cris is ready to be discharged from hospital, but she doesn’t know how to break the news to Vale and Leo.
