Machida Sawako, nicknamed Miss Bernard, frequents the school library and always seems to have a book in her hands... but while she longs to be an avid reader, she finds reading to be too much work.

The school librarian, Hasegawa Sumika, is interested in Endou, so she tries to strike up a conversation about the book he's reading. Elsewhere in the library, Sawako asks Shiori for some sci-fi recommendations.

Shiori teaches Sawako about Japan's three greatest mystery novels.
