A pro racer, a hometown hero, a husband-and-wife team, a pair of sisters and a total novice – meet five diverse teams preparing for the Baja 1000. They have different motivations but one goal: to win.

With time running out, each of the teams face challenges while getting ready for race day. Whether it's diagnosing a mechanical problem or getting used to a new partner, everyone is under the gun.

With the start of the Baja 1000 just 16 days away, the teams go through their final preparations. Race qualification and equipment readiness must be taken care of, not to mention mental preparation.

With the start of the Baja 1000 just five days away, the teams are all in Ensenada, Mexico. In the hours before the race starts something always goes wrong. Which teams can power through and overcome?

The years of preparation have led up to this moment. Now, all that stands between the five teams and their goal is 1,350km (840 miles) of punishing desert driving where anything can happen.
