Nanami is abandoned by her father and becomes homeless. She meets a man who offers his home, which turns out to be a shrine.

The land Mikage's shrine protects includes Isara Swamp and Himemiko, the guardian mistress comes to pay her respects to the new land god.

Nanami saves a white snake at school and is marked as the snake's intended, so Tomoe transfers into her class to protect her.

The god of thunder, Narukami, wants to take away Nanami's godhood so Tomoe stops serving her and she can have him for herself.

Tomoe goes to school disguised as Nanami, as she is sick, but Mizuki takes advantage of this and visits Nanami.
