As newly arrived American troops settle in for their first wartime deployment to Sadr City, Baghdad, a platoon led by Lt Shane Aguero gets ambushed during a routine sanitation support mission.

Aguero leads his men to refuge in a house, while other teams attempt a rescue mission. Meanwhile, Gina faces her own challenges at Fort Hood.

Denomy's resolve is tested when he is in charge of his first rescue into Sadr City under heavy fire. At Fort Hood, Gina deals with the challenges of being the new leader of the Family Readiness Group as well as the mother of a newborn.

Miltenberger and his team get stranded in a city filled with growing danger as night falls. Denomy and Volesky plan for another rescue attempt while Aguero and his men prepare for contact. LeAnn and Gina attempts to reassure the families.

The Choice
When interpreter Jassim al-Lani's troubled past rises to the surface, his allegiances are tested. Tensions grow in the alley house as the insurgents change their plans and force Aguero to make a choice that will stay with his platoon forever.
