Rokuro hopes to leave the trauma from his time as an exorcist behind, but an encounter with Benio, the head of an exorcist clan, forces him to summon his powers once again.

Benio's surprising arrival in Rokuro's dormitory leads to a public clash between the two at the behest of Chief Exorcist Tsuchimikado, who makes a shocking proclamation.

Rokuro tries to cope with Benio's presence in his class and his friend Mayura takes him to an amusement park to cheer him up, but a Kegare attack forces Rokuro back into action.

Rokuro continues to resist pressure to resume exorcism duties, but he changes his tune when an exorcism goes wrong and his friend Ryogo becomes trapped in the spirit world with a vicious Kegare.

As Kegare attacks intensify, help arrives in the form of a powerful exorcist; Rokuro visits a recovering Ryogo and questions his decision to quit being an exorcist.

Rokuro volunteers to help with an exorcism, which allows Benio the day off; Mayura's suspicions about what Benio does outside of school leads to an encounter between the two, but a Kegare interrupts their bonding time.
