Cold Squad

The body of ten-year old boy, bound and with duct tape over his mouth, washes up on a beach near the harbor. Seems like just another homicide until an old friend of Logozzo’s, a retired coroner, tells Logozzo that he believes this case has similarities to an unsolved murder of a ten-year-old 20 years before. DNA and blood testing from the 20 year-old pajamas and from the new victim prove that the cases are connected. The same killer killed both boys.

An ex-cop, Tom Elston, turns to the COLD SQUAD to prove that a soon-to-be-released prisoner, Wayne Corby, murdered his daughter Janine 12 years earlier. Although it is later revealed that Corby was burglarizing homes in another city the evening Janine was killed, Elston’s obsession with capturing Corby has caused both his marriage and his career to deteriorate and continues to seek out revenge by stalking him.

The Cold Squad reopens a case of the 1982 rape and murder of a 14 year-old girl known only as “Tess.” By analyzing “Tess’s” skull, which is all that remains of the victim, the Detectives hope to match the wounds to a murder weapon.

Jill Stone uncovers a link between the gruesome murder and decapitation of two nurses committed more than 20 years ago. After launching a full investigation, Stone suggests that they may be chasing a serial killer.

When Barbara Taggert is killed in a fire and her five-year-old daughter is abducted, the prime suspect seems to be Wayne Taggert, upstanding father, husband and pillar in the community. But Wayne has an airtight alibi and Barbara Taggert’s body was so badly burnt that the coroner could not determine the exact cause of death. Things begin to turn in the COLD SQUAD’s favour when Fisher reviews the autopsy report and x-rays finding solid proof that Barbara was strangled. Ali orders Nick to go undercover and try to get Wayne Taggert to reveal the horrifying truth.

In 1967, Wilson “Salty” Cheever was found stabbed to death in a hotel room in Skid Row. Just one of many suspicious deaths and in each case, one name keeps surfacing: Theresa Joseph, a 48 year-old prostitute, heroin addict and petty thief. Cheever was stabbed 3 times in the chest by a strangely curved knife with specific markings on the blade and missing its tip. This could be helpful should they find the murder weapon. That’s if anyone can remember anything after so many hard living years.
