Sara Poikkipaa inherits land from Brita Nelihanga; she discovers Pieti Nelihanka is her half-brother; Rouku attempts to prevent the execution of Brita's will and testament.

Samel and Aghmo face increasing debts; their only remaining option is to borrow money from Stagge, who leads the criminal underworld in the ice-sea port area.
