S1, E19: Crowley and Pepper are called in when word gets around that "The Company", formerly operated by Vito Angelo, is starting up again. Angelo has spent the last 15 years in prison and is soon to be released. Meanwhile, three hoods have been murdered and others terrorised. Pepper's assignment is simply to nose around the underworld night life seeking information. She is there when five men loot and destroy Eddie Bender's gambling casino and are right behind him the next day when his car blows up. Crowley and Pepper visit Vito Angelo in prison. They find a tired, gentle old man who resents the misuse of his name and gladly offers to help the police put a stop to it. Angelo makes a phone call and the next day a man named Johnny visits Pepper and Crowley. He is, he says, an out-of-towner who wants to help Angelo. If they trail him, he will unearth the man they want - Vincent Phillips, Angelo's former lawyer.
