Be Not Meant to Be

During the Chinese Republican era, Ye Nan Zhao (Li Mo Zhi) nearly escapes death when her husband sets their house on fire, although her daughter perishes in the incident. On her way to report the crime to the authorities, she ends up abducted onto a pirate ship, but is luckily rescued by Lu Zhuo (Dai Gao Zheng), the second-in-command of the Green Dragon Society. To protect herself, Nan Zhao adopts the identity of "Bai Shuang Shuang," a deceased woman who was the second concubine of the Lu household, but the real Bai Shuang Shuang left behind plenty of loose ends. Even worse, in a bizarre twist of fate, she sees her now-ex husband again – and he's marrying the Lu family's daughter. Nan Zhao decides to stay with the Lu family to get revenge against her ex and avenge her daughter. Will Nan Zhao succeed, and will partnering with Lu Zhuo help her?
