Kimi wa Pet

Sumire, news reporter, dumped by her fiancé, demoted at work, had hit the rock bottom of life. One day, while being drunk she found a handsome youth in a cardboard box in front of her house, mistaking him for her childhood pet MoMo. Next day, Sumire named the young man MoMo and agreed to his stay if he was to be her pet.

Sumire decided she would never date anyone who made her feel inferior. She went out with Ijuin, however the date was uncomfortable and unpleasant at all. After that she found that being with Momo comfort her more than before. One day Sumire went to see a dance performance of Momo (whose real name is Takeshi) and was very touched.

Sumire reunited with her first love Hasumi, and while kissing in front of Sumire's house they were interrupted by Momo's mimicking of dog barking. Sumire, realizing that pets might be jealous of their owner's partner, became even gentle to MoMo. A few days later on the rooftop, Hasumi told Sumire that he'd always been loving her.

In spite of being interrupted by Fukushima, a receptionist approaching Hasumi aggressively, Sumire revealed her feelings to and entered a relationship with Hasumi. However, on Sumire's birthday, Hasumi couldn't make it due to work, and at night when Sumire returned home tiredly, MoMo prepared a surprise for her.

Sumire and Hasumi went hiking and had to stay a night away. While everything seemed to be going smoothly, Sumire began to worry about MoMo. Couldn't leave him all alone, she went back home in the middle of the date. However, when Sumire got home, she found MoMo had disappeared.

Fukushima had a stalker, so Hasumi let her stay the night without telling Sumire. That made her insecure and she was exhausted by work at the same time. Hasumi was worried, but Sumire couldn't be affectionate to him. Momo also noticed that Sumire's both physically and emotionally burned-out.
