Reginald Andres lives a life of dreams deferred until he’s turned into a vampire and begins a life he never dreamed of. He’s mentored by the vampire who made him, Maurice. He’s threatened by a powerful vampire who wants him dead, Angela. He’s bullied at work by his boss, Todd. And he wishes there was a way to win the heart of the young woman he loves, Sarah.

Reginald needs to feed and he sucks at feeding no pun intended. Reginald finally feeds on Todd, his boss and bully. Angela, Regional District Head views Reginald as an insult. In 1972, Maurice works as a community organizer in Oakland dedicated to social justice. Angela sees the fire that burns in him and offers him a better way to fight. Angela, a vampire, turns Maurice! In the aftermath, Maurice abuses his newfound power, kills a cop, and they must go on the run. But Maurice needs to see someone before he vanishes. His mother.

Reginald is finally getting the hang of things. He glamours Todd into becoming an all-you-can-eat-blood-buffet. He asks Sarah out on a second date. And sure, Angela still wants him dead, and he’s got to train for an Assessment he’ll never pass, but for the first time in a while he’s feeling pretty good about his prospects. Then everything changes. Maurice returns to town and that’s a good thing.

Reginald’s love life just got complicated. He shares a first kiss with Sarah. A deranged vampire assassin is now head over heels in love with him. Angela puts The Assessment back on the books. One way or another she wants him dead. Reginald and Sarah plan a third date. Nikki engages in a little light stalking. Reginald and Sarah share a romantic dinner. Nikki watches from a wistful distance.
