This week, Caithness born vet Shondie faces the most dramatic case of her career when an emergency case arrives at the practice. Leyla, a two-month-old Tamaskan puppy, has been brought in after being attacked by an older dog.

It’s seal pupping season, and vet Shondie has her hands full when two rescued grey seal pups, Pudding and Buster, are brought into the practice for emergency veterinary care. And there is a real team effort when long-haired Chihuahua Zac arrives at the practice with a recurring bladder problem just as the day draws to a close.

Vet Guy has an urgent case on his hands when Heidi, the 11-month-old Chihuahua, arrives at the practice under the weather and heavily pregnant. Over a dramatic 24 hours, Guy works hard to keep Heidi safe and nervous owner Heather calm as the little dog goes into labour.

Team Thurso is called in to help Bengal cat Harvey who is suffering from a serious form of anaemia and needs emergency help. Meanwhile, Kaiser the Weimaraner arrives at the practice with a worrying lump on his neck.

Vet Shondie is on night duty when an emergency case arrives at the practice. The owner of greyhound Paddy, and Saluki cross Lassy, thinks one of them might have swallowed a battery, and there are fears that it could disintegrate in one of their stomachs.

Vet David is called out to a farm where a cow is in labour with twin calves. David arrives to find the calves twisted together on top of each other, and it soon turns into the most complicated cow pregnancy he has ever faced.
