Nicholai and Thomas are two scientists stuck in a post-apocalyptic 2037 plagued by a fertility virus that has left the whole world without children. They invent a temporal displacement machine that allows them to make a one way trip back to a time before the virus with a clear mission to try and avoid their hopeless future whatever the costs.

Nicholai, Thomas and David are still in 2017, but determined not to make the trip home to certain arrest and death from BIOCORP until they have completed their mission.

Nicholai and Thomas are now trapped in 2017, having missed the window to get home and now cut off from the machine. They decide to use the information they have about the future to find the designer of the chip that spreads the virus in their world.

Still stuck in 2017, Nico and Thomas talk to a scientist, an expert in the field of time travel, in an attempt to try and discover how to return to 2037.

In 2017 Thomas and Nicholai kill time in a bar and reflect on the future to potentially come, with Thomas revealing what happened to his father in the riots and how he wishes he could see him one last time. In 2037 Commander Dane and The Speaker are still sacrificing soldiers trying to master the secrets of the time machines.
