Robin Aubert

Although Robin Aubert's debut feature didn't happen until 2005, his career as a director began much earlier. Perhaps the most beneficial time of his life was participating in the 1997-98 Course Destination-Monde (Radio Canada), which was a television series for young filmmakers. He shot more then 15 documentaries during this time which led to him winning the Public's Choice Award, the Silver Camera Award, and the SODEC award. Because of this he received a grant of $50,000 towards the production of another of his short films. Aubert's debut feature was "Saint Martyrs of the Damned (2005). His film played at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival where he eventually won a Best Director award from the 2006 Fantasporto Film Festival in Portugal. The actor turned writer turned director continued working steadily in both fields, directing "La Mort de John Kordic" in 2012 and playing a recurring role in the Canadian television crime drama "Le Gentleman" (Radio Canada 2009-).
